"Mass
Colors"
Bishop Cool
February 23, 2007 - March 23, 2007
Opening Reception Feb. 23rd 6-11pm
Nicholas Gallery is celebrating
1 year of success with a show of bright color by Bishop Cool. This
Cincinnatian’s name says it all. He’s confident, knows what he
believes in, and paints with a passion that’s of his own greatness.
Final Friday is a night in Cincinnati where you will see Bishop at a
gallery, dressed in black, enthusiastically speaking to people about art
and downtown galleries. He believes in our extreme generation and
wants to express
that through mass colors.
Bishop Cool’s artwork has a signature style made up of
bright colors and various configurations of dots. He impulsively
paints abstract figures, centered on the canvas with elongated necks
that are vibrant and mysterious. The dots together form abstract
shapes relating like an expressionist and cubist painting. The
alluring figures have many different sexual undertones and these ideas
allow the work to become exciting and cool.
February 23, 2007 is a
special night for Nicholas Gallery and Bishop Cool. Not only is
this our 1-year celebration, but Bishop has attended every Final
Friday
Opening Reception. We have arranged for Pete Fosco to spin fresh
sounds from his new record collection put together during a cross
country road trip. P.F. Changs China Bistro and Passage Café will
be catering the event with a small army of servers. Of course,
there will be refreshments and good wine for everyone’s enjoyment.
This is a celebration!
